'Hackney Archive: Work and Life 1971-1985', 120pp, cloth spine, 156mm x 196mm. Photography and text by Neil Martinson.
Book 7 in the series 'Vintage Britain'
East London in the 70s was raw and vivid: bombed-out houses, kids playing in the streets, factories abuzz with workers. These images take us on a journey through workshops, street markets and council homes to capture a time and place before technology and gentrification changed local lives forever.
Neil Martinson started taking photographs while still at school in Hackney. It satisfied his sense of curiosity and he hoped it would change the world. He has worked as a freelance photographer and taught photography. He remains curious, is still trying to change the world and spends a lot of time in the mountains.

'London 1977–1987', 104pp, cloth spine, 156mm x 196mm. Photography by Berris Conolly. With an introduction by Geoff Nicholson.
Book 9 in the series 'Vintage Britain'
These pensive black-and-white photographs from the 70s and 80s document the capital’s urban landscape and its people. Sometimes puzzling, often mysterious, Berris Conolly’s images show parts of London that many may never have seen; for others they will be a portal to the past.
Berris Conolly, formerly a commercial photographer, turned to documentary photography in the 70s, at first capturing his neighbourhood in Hackney before a commission took him to Sheffield – where he still lives today.
